a little about Jasper

Jasper was founded in 1853 as seat of the newly formed Pickens County. It was incorporated in 1857 as a town and in 1957 as a city.  Situated at an elevation of 1,463 feet in the foothills of the Appalachians, it is known as the First Mountain City.

Jasper has an active community with a variety of festivals and events throughout the year.  Although most famous for the Marble Festival and JeepFest, Jasper also has street festivals, road races, and more!
