GrandView Lake, located in Jasper, Georgia, is approximately 80 acres in size. Champion Creek, which begins near the top of Mt. Oglethorpe, flows down toward GrandView and is impounded by an earthen dam which is overtopped by GrandView Road. The dam was recently reconstructed and certified by Georgia Safe Dams to be earthquake compliant. The lake is approximately 75 feet deep at the dam. From the dam on Grandview Road, there is a magnificent view of Sharptop Mountain (elevation 2400') and Mt. Oglethorpe (elevation 3000') beyond. GrandView Lake is private and has no public access.
Homeowners and shareholders use a common area located near the dam on Grandview Road.
The lake is home to many species of fish, amphibians and migratory birds. The water has been rated as some of the cleanest waters in the state and in the future will be used by the city of Jasper as a source of drinking water.
Grandview Lake is privately owned with an active community. Just 10 minutes from downtown Jasper, your country home is conveniently located to unique stores, restaurants, and community events.
Grandview Lake is the largest water reservoir in Pickens County. Construction began on the lake in the 1940s, and it is currently owned and managed by the residents.
